Where is Antalya?
Antalya is located on the South West coast of Türkiye, and is a part of Anatolia. It is the 5th largest city in Türkiye, and the largest Turkish City located along the Mediterranean Coastline, outside of those in the Aegean.
Geographically, Antalya is bordered by the Taurus Mountains, and the Mediterranean Sea, making it a favorite destination for holidaymakers from all over Türkiye.
About Antalya
Antalya was founded by Attalos the 2nd, a King of Pergamum in 159 B.C., who ordered his men to find him a paradise, and the city was also named Attaleia after him. The city is a cross-road of ancient Pamphilia, Psidia and Lycia and was established in the most fertile geography of Anatolia. Antalya has been the center of culture, art, architecture, and mythology throughout its history. The clean and beautiful beaches of Antalya, where nature's colors blue and green unite, are what makes the area's beaches blue flag.
Antalya is also host to congresses and conferences held by many famous companies in different fields from all over the world. In addition, Anfaş is one of the known exhibition centers in both Türkiye and Europe with successfully organized national and international activities. With its traditional architecture the picturesque old city of Kaleiçi, with its narrow winding streets and wooden houses abut the ancient city walls.
It is no wonder that Antalya is one of the favorite cities in Türkiye.
How to get to Antalya?
Getting to Antalya is easy, as it is one of the larger cities in Turkey, so there are major routes available for travelers to take. Flying is the number one option for those who are limited in time in Türkiye. Antalya has an International airport, which has TWO international terminals. There are also constant domestic flights arriving and departing from all over Türkiye, with the flight time from Istanbul only 1 hour 15 min.
The distance from the airport to the hotel is about 70 km and it will cost about 55-60 Euros.
